  • Advocacy Service- within the context of Citizen Advocacy

  • Affordable Counselling- 1:1 appointments

  • Assessments for interventions carried out by our qualified Counselling Co-ordinator

  • Benefits Advice- via sign-posting

  • Community Fridge- Access to fresh food via our commitment as a Community Fridge

  • CV construction

  • Drop in service (Via appointments due to Covid-19 related safety)

  • Education Classes:

    • Anger Management/Understanding your Emotions

    • Confidence/Employability courses

    • Digital Confidence- including: Learn my Way, Using a tablet and Job Seeking Skills

    • Basic Skills via our Sunday Learning group- making learning fun!

    • Internet Safety

(All over- seen and facilitated by our qualified Education Co-ordinator)

  • Impartial Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) and access to our partner organisations and other providers, via our qualified IAG specialist

Drop In Service

Our drop in service is there to facilitate face to face help with social problems, universal credit and provide a fixed address for those for our postal holding service. First Stop Centre is well connected in the community so if we are unable to help we will be able to advise services that can. Anyone is welcome so feel free to come along to our drop in service during open times. Our canteen provides service users affordable meals and a safe environment to chat and befriend others who may be in a similar situations.

Counselling service

Our on site counselors operate outside of our centers opening hours. The counselling rates are very affordable, compared with those services around the Braintree area. Support Groups

Our Groups

Our centre is often used for courses and groups to benefit a large cross section of the Braintree community. Our courses include learning the basics ICT, Maths, English, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Anger management and many more. To find out about our courses or to book onto a group press Inquire now.

Facility Hire

Our centre may be hired out to groups benefiting the Braintree community for a small cost outside of operating hours. Please press enquire now if you wish to find out more.

Reminiscing

Reminiscence Groups

In conjunction with Essex County Council we deliver reminiscence classes in care homes across Essex; commonly in conjunction with their own events coordinators. If this could benefit your care home or have any questions please press enquire now.
