First stop centre was formed in 1981 following an industrial decline nationally and in the Braintree area; leaving many without jobs with little support. First stop centre was formed by forward thinking individuals to bridge this gap and help these workers by giving support.
Since, First stop has evolved offering vital services to benefit the disadvantaged in the local community. First stop has seen thousands of people and families through the doors, many engaging in courses and services. Our doors remain open to the Braintree community and First stop hopes to always be there to benefit those in need.
First Stop Centre is made up of a small dedicated team who provide their experience and knowledge in helping clients that present to the centre. Our team is forever expanding, we have both paid and volunteer staff fulfilling a number of roles within the charity. We always welcome volunteers to apply to assist us in the running of our centre.
